Serial #522 , Caliber .45 Colt, 6” barrel manufactured 1878. Colts first successful large frame double action revolver with six shot cylinder and long fluted cylinder. Nickel finished with 2-piece Elephant grips. Additionally, we believe this to be a true Wild West Show gun, as it is an extremely rare smoothbore, which are known to have been commonly used for trick shooting. These 1878's were made famous by Captain Jack Crawford, Buffalo Bill Cody and Pawnee Bill. CONDITION, Very fine with most nickel finish remaining and having a pleasant un-polished tone. Grips are excellent with a light patina coloring. Action operates properly. ANTIQUE
