A grouping of items to do with Captain Jack Crawford, an infamous Western figure in American history, known as the poet scout of the Black Hills. Born in 1847 in Ireland and imigrated to America in 1860 just in time to join the Union Army to fight in the Civil War. Going forward, he replaced W.F.Cody as Cheif of Scouts for the 5th Cavalry, aka the Black Hills Rangers in August 1876. And went on to accomplish many great military feats. Included in the lot are notes of documentation. There are 4 items, the first of which is an autographed studio portrait measuring 7" x 9". With a personal friendship letter written on the back. 2) An autographed book with personal note written by Crawford, titled "The Poet Scout". 3) An interesting booklet of poems and writings by Crawford called "Camp Fire Sparks". 4) A copy of the famed book "The Bronco Book" by Crawford, filled with poems and writings. Capt. Jack Crawford was a major player in our history, and accomplished military figure.
